The collection of personal data and why
When visitors send us their details for a job application and on our contact form we collect this data, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
You will note that our website address begins with the now-familiar green padlock followed by https – (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure). This verifies the transfer details between the website and the online server is encrypted, so ensuring the information is kept completely confidential during transit. Your details are then kept securely on our password protected business computer.
Contact form messages are kept until the enquiry has been answered and dealt with to the satisfaction of both parties, thereafter it is erased.
When a job applicant does not become a member of staff their details is retained for a period of time up to one year and then erased.
Successful applicants details are retained during their employment at the cafe and then for a further period of time up to one year, and then erased.
The details of supplier's of goods and services to the cafe are retained on file for the purpose of re-ordering.
At no time will names, addresses, email or phone numbers be given, sold or communicated to any third party.
What rights you have over your data
You can request that we erase your personal data at any time. We will be pleased to oblige subject to any data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
